January 15: A Free Day of Baseball in San Francisco
The First Base Foundation – California Warriors, in partnership with the Giants Community Fund, are inviting you to Silver Terrace Field for a free day of baseball in San Francisco. This will take place on Sunday, January 15 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM. You may come for any portion of the day, but players must sign up in advance to participate.
This will be an opportunity for high school ball players to get some reps, meet other student athletes from various high schools, and build the local baseball community. If players are interested in playing for the California Warriors in the summer, this is a way for us to see them on the field. This opportunity is open to all players regardless of where they plan to play 2023 summer baseball.
Players will warm up; infielders, outfielders, pitchers, and catchers will work out at their various positions; take batting practice; and play a game.
California Warriors Coaches Christian Merriwether & Marcus Chiu will be in attendance to lead the players. Both Christian and Marcus are alumni of the California Warriors program who played college baseball and currently play professionally. Christian played at College of Marin and D-II Rogers State University (where he graduated from in 2021) before joining the Trenton Thunder in the MLB Draft League in 2022. Marcus was drafted by the Dodgers in the 15th round out of College of Marin and currently plays Double-A ball in the Miami Marlins system.
We look forward to seeing you on the field!
